Built by Discipline.
Refined by Repetition.
Freedom to ROUM.
ROUM is a fitness brand that lives in the space between discipline and discovery. The brand celebrates the unseen work behind exploration: the miles nobody sees, the hours in the weight room, and the rituals repeated until they become instinct. I created the naming, strategy, visual identity, and brand applications, developing a system that uses bold typography, movement-driven imagery, and a minimalist aesthetic.

THE THINKING BEHIND ROUM
I set out to create a fitness brand that could compete in a saturated premium market. Before putting pen to paper, I studied brands like Satisfy, SOAR, District Vision, Bandit, and Tracksmith, looking at what made each distinctive, where they overlapped, and where there was still room to stand apart.
The research led me beyond aesthetics. I started listing the qualities athletes themselves prioritize: discipline, consistency, repetition, progress, and the willingness to invest in getting better.
That idea of investment became especially important. Premium performance gear requires a monetary commitment, but that investment mirrors a much bigger one athletes are already making: the hours in the weight room, the miles nobody sees, the same movements practiced again and again. Whether the goal is a new personal best or simply making it farther than yesterday, freedom comes from doing the work first.
That became ROUM.
The visual identity was designed around that tension between discipline and freedom. Bold, sophisticated typography gives the brand the elevated quality of premium performance wear, while orange creates a distinctive presence in a category dominated by more restrained palettes. The system needed to feel refined enough to exist outside the gym without being mistaken for another athleisure brand.
The logo brings the strategy directly into the mark. The O is turned on its side to resemble a running track, representing the loops athletes repeat, literally and figuratively, to get where they want to go.
Built by discipline. Refined by repetition. Freedom to ROUM.
